The fiscal impacts of a permanent stamp duty holiday

The current stamp duty freeze has fuelled the housing market since the summer, driving economic benefit well beyond simply property transactions. As we look to support the economy over the coming months and years there are very strong arguments for making this change permanent, with the potential for the government to increase overall tax receipts as a result of doing so.
